Songkran, the Thai most famous festival, is Thai New Year starts from the 13th of April to the 15th of April. SGS brought the festival a week earlier for all students to participate in the celebration, which is rich with symbolic traditions. On this specific occasion, performing water pouring on Buddha statues in considered an iconic ritual. It represents purification and the washing away one’s sins and bad luck. Rot Nam Dam Hua (รดน้ำดำหัว), another traditional way to cerebrate with elders. Our students had an opportunity to experience Rot Nam Dam Hua to our senior faculties.
Songkran Festival is also known as Water Festival which is mostly celebrated by young people. A small water fight happened in our building but this fight brought a smile to our faces.
