After the successful conclusion of G-Lab Scaling Impact Cohort One, we were contact by มูลนิธิขวัญชุมชน DeeGroup to use human-centered design thinking to tackle the problem of rising rates of teenage pregnancies, particularly in the province of Surin, Thailand. We facilitated a two-day workshop where we not only introduced human-centered design (HCD) methodology, but empowered local government officials, principals, teachers and teenage girls on how HCD can be used to generate innovative solutions to a widespread social problem.
The workshop experience was particularly engaging and rewarding because G-Lab, in full collaboration with มูลนิธิขวัญชุมชน DeeGroup, managed to get multiple diverse stakeholder groups into the room. In particular, getting teenage girls, whom are particularly close to the issues, afforded all participants with rich insights into the problem and generated innovative ideas that would require further testing.
