The BA in Global Studies and Social Entrepreneurship is Accepting Applications for the Academic Year 2025

Requirements for the BA in Global Studies and Social Entrepreneurship

IF APPLYING WITH HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR TRANSCRIPT

1. OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA

If you are studying in 12th grade and have not received your high school diploma, you may submit a certificate of student status issued by your school instead.

 
2. TRANSCRIPT

- High School Transcript (consist of at least 4 semesters)
- Students must have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA

 
3. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY TEST SCORE

Please submit one of the following scores for proof of English language proficiency:

- TU-GET paper-based (PBT) 500 and above
- TU-GET computer-based (CBT) 61 and above
- TOEFL paper-based (PBT) 500 and above
- TOEFL Internet-based (IBT) 61 and above
- TOELF Institution Testing Program (ITP) 500 and above
- IELTS 6.0 and above
- New SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing Part) 450 and above
- GSAT (Reading, Writing, and Language) 450 and above

 
4. IDENTIFICATION

When determining student’s suitability, our admission team and judges look far beyond just your grade points. This is the reason why we request our applicants to submit a portfolio. A portfolio plays a vital role for us to understand about you. It serves as a window into your personal practices and an opportunity to show your ability, creativity, and passion.

You are not limited to just book formate. Historically applicants had also submitted a website and well a video for their portfolio.  A portfolio will highlight your past activities and achievements and how they relate to GSSE.

6. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The Statement of Purpose is an essential part of your application that will tell the admissions committee who you are, what has influenced your career path so far, your professional interests and where you plan to go from here.
The Statement of Purpose should be about one page long. This part will tell us a lot about who you are, so you want to make sure that this is well written and organized.
Below are questions that you must answer in your SOP. However, you are not limited to these questions:

2. What value, skills, or knowledge will you bring into the program?
3. How will GSSE benefit you personally, academically, and professionally?

IF APPLYING WITH GED (AMERICAN/CANADIAN SYSTEM)

1. GED SCORES

- Applicants taking the GED tests after August 1st 2019 shall have GED results in 4 subjects, scoring at least 145 in each subject.

- Applicants taking the GED tests within May 2017 to July 31st, 2019 shall have GED results in 4 subjects, scoring at least 145 in each subject.

- Applicants taking the GED tests before May 2017 shall have GED results in 5 subjects with the total score of no less than 2,250 points, with at least 410 points in each subject.

 

2. GED CERTIFICATE

Students must provide an official copy of their GED scores.

 

3. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY TEST SCORE

IF APPLYING WITH IGCSE (BRITISH EDUCATION SYSTEM)

1. IGCSE CERTIFICATES

Must have official transcripts or certificates as proof of completion within IGCSE, GCSE, GCE ‘O’ Level, and GCE ‘AS’

 

2.EXAM SCORE

- Applicants shall have GCE ‘A’ Level results in 3 subjects, with grades A* - E; OR
- Applicants shall have Cambridge Pre-U results in 3 subjects, scoring at least M1 or D1-D3 in each subject.

IF APPLYING FROM NEW ZEALAND SCHOOL SYSTEM (NZQA)

1. OFFICIAL NCEA LEVEL CERTIFICATE
  • Applicants shall have the New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) under supervision of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) with no less than 80 credits, consisting of
    • - Subjects in Level 2 or higher, comprising of no less than 60 credits; and
    • - Subjects in Level 1 or higher, comprising of no less than 20 credits.
    • - English for Speaker of Other Languages (ESLO) is also a subject included in the consideration.
    • - Applicants shall have an NCEA level 2 certificate, a Record of Achievement, and a certificate from New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) confirming the levels, number of subjects and number of credits of each subject.

 

2. TRANSCRIPT
  • - High School Transcript (consist of at least 4 semesters) OR
  • - Applicant submitting NCEA must completed at least 80 credits in total: (1) Completed level 2 subjects or higher with at least 60 credits AND (2) Completed level 1 or higher at least 20 credits

IF APPLYING WITH INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (IB)

1.1 OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA (IF GRADUATING FROM WITHIN THAILAND)
  • - Applicants shall have a high school diploma from a school in Thailand approved by the Ministry of Education; OR

 

1.2 FOR STUDENTS GRADUATING FROM A SCHOOL OUTSIDE OF THAILAND
  • - Applicants who graduated from overseas shall have an IB diploma: that is; having a total score of no less than 24 points from 5 subjects and 1 elective subject, and shall have passed the evaluation on Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and Creativity, Action & Service (CAS) under the criteria of International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO); OR
  • - Applicants have IB Diploma Course Results (IBCR) of at least 5 different subjects and receiving no lower than Grade 3 in each subject.
    • - International programs from other countries, please check the equivalency of overseas qualifications from the Ministry of Education’s Announcement on Equivalency of Overseas Qualifications announced on 18 January 2012. For applicants who graduated or obtained test scores prior to 1 August 2019, the Council of University Presidents of Thailand’s Criteria on Equivalency of High School Qualifications in University Admission, 2019 are applied.
