Stéphane P. Rousseau, formerly an associate dean, is currently a lecturer and director of the International & Interdisciplinary Field Immersion Program (IIFIP) catering to the University of California and University of Maastricht. Prior to his academic career, he held leadership positions for over 25 years in international humanitarian, development, and multilateral cooperation missions across Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
His experience encompasses coordinating UN emergency operations in war zone refugee camps and specializing in protection and human rights as a UNHCR Protection Officer and UN Human Rights investigator. Rousseau then shifted his focus to the management and coordination of international programs. He served as the director of the EU malaria project in Laos, a regional coordinator for the World Health Organization (Asia-Pacific), and a regional coordinator for the Asian Development Bank (Mekong region).
Rousseau continues to contribute as a consultant to various international organizations, including the WHO, European Union, Secretariat of the Pacific Community, and AusAID. He also serves as an expert to the Global Fund in Geneva. His extensive experience spans many countries across Asia and the world.
