Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the duration of the program?

The MA in Social Innovation and Sustainability starts in August. The course is intended to be finished within a year. The course will be offered in three semesters.

  • Semester 1:   August - December (15 credits)
  • Semester 2: January - May (15 credits)
  • Summer:  June - July (6 credits)

2. What is the cost of the MA?

THB 257,710 for Thai Nationals, THB 298,210 for International Students.

 
3. Is it possible to join the program and work at the same time? When will the classes be delivered?

Yes, you can take a courses and work at the same time. Classes will be delivered during the weekends (full day on Saturdays and Sundays), and one weekday (Wednesday) evening 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM.

 
4. Where do the classes happen?

Classes will be offered at the Tha Prachan Campus of Thammasat University.

 
5. What degree is required?

We accept Bachelor’s Degree from any field.

 
6. Eligible Nationalities:

We accept an applicant from all nationalities.

 
7. How many credits is the program? How long will it take to complete this program?

The Master of Arts in Social Innovation and Sustainability (MAS) requires 36 credits to earn a degree in a minimum of one year of study.

 
8. Do I need an official undergraduate graduation diploma & transcript to apply?

Yes, you may need an official undergraduate graduation diploma & transcript to apply and enroll as a Thammasat university student. However, if the applicant is pursuing a 4th-year bachelor’s degree, applicants may submit a current transcript as evidence of their application first. But it would be best if you were sure to be able to graduate in time before the semester starts.

 
9. What is a career path after I graduate from the MAS program?

There are numerous opportunities available to you after graduating from the MAS program; our graduates pursue various paths following graduation from the MAS program. Whether using what they’ve learned in the program for improving their present job or following a new career path in a related industry, they’ve succeeded. For example, Innovation Lab, Community Development, Impact Investment & Social Innovation, Social Impact Assessment, Social Entrepreneur, Start-Up, Business Coach, Communication for Behavior Change Consultant are a few examples.

 
10. How do I pay the application fee?

To process your application we require a fee of 1000THB.

11. How do I apply to this program?

You can apply online through our website during designated periods for each admission round. If your documents are complete and you meet the qualifications, you will be invited for an interview during that round.

 
12. How will I know if I am eligible for the interview?

The administrative team will send you an email confirming your eligibility and providing Zoom details for the interview.

 
13. Can I meet faculty members before making my decision?

Yes! Prospective students can contact the administrative team via email to schedule appointments with potential advisors (in-person or online). This helps you determine if your areas of interest align with their expertise. You can also explore faculty specializations on our website [Faculty].

 
14. What are the English proficiency test requirements for application?
  • TU–GET paper-based (550 and above)
  • TU-GET computer-based (79 and above)
  • TOEFL paper-based (550 and above)
  • TOEFL Internet-based (79 and above)
  • IELTS (6.5 and above)

Notes:

  • The English Proficiency Test Score Report must not exceed 2 years from the exam date to the date of the interview.
  • We do not accept the TOEFL Essentials test and TOEFL ITP.
  • Exemption: Applicants who are citizens of an English-speaking country (e.g., Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, and the USA) are exempted. Proof of citizenship must be submitted.
  • Applicants who have earned a degree from a university where English is the primary medium of instruction may submit a certificate of English Medium Instruction, signed by the University Registrar. However, the SGS has the right to accept or reject such certificates based on the applicant’s qualifications and the use of the English language observed during the admission. The certificate is valid for 2 years from the date of graduation to the date of application.
 
15. Can I apply to this program if I have not taken an English proficiency test yet?

Yes, If you have not yet taken a test you can submit it later but not later than the end of the first semester. Select the option “take later” in the application form. Thammasat University also provides the English Proficiency test “TU-GET”. You can find the schedule of the test here TU-GET
