MAS SCHOLARSHIP

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS OFFERED BY GSSE?

(FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS ONLY)

  • - Thesis Track Scholarships (100% & Partial Tuition Scholarship)
  • - Social Innovator Scholarship (100% & Partial Tuition Scholarship)

WHO CAN APPLY?

  • - New applicants applying for 2022 admission and had been accepted into the program in admission round 1 – 3
  • - Those with minimum GPA of 3.0 and up
  • - Those with at least two or three years of community leadership initiative experience
  •

2. SCHOLARSHIP PAPER AND PRESENTATION

a) Research Track.

Submit a 1500 word research proposal that explains a research question related to social innovation and sustainability (it make consider any social or environmental issue) and explain your rationale for asking the question. Additionally, describe the research methods you would use for answering the question and the potential impact of the research.

Give a 5-minute oral presentation of your research accompanied with slides. The presentation will either take place at the time of your interview or at a separate designated time.

Note: students who choose the research track, should have the ambition to pursue a career in research and consider the MA as a stepping stone to doing a PhD.

b) Coursework Social Innovation Scholarship

Submit a 1500 word paper that describes a social innovation project that you led or supported. Explain the purpose of the project, how it was novel, your contribution to the project, the challenges and key learnings from the project, and what you discovered you would like to understand more so future projects could be impactful.

Give a 5-minute oral presentation of your research accompanied with slides. The presentation will either take place at the time of your interview or at a separate designated time.

Applicants will be evaluated based on their past experience, academic ability, and skills in research, writing and analytical thinking.

Apart from the scholarships provided by SGS, applicants are also encouraged to explore other scholarship opportunities from outside SGS as well. Below is a list of external organizations who provide alternative scholarships, welcoming MAS applicants and students to apply.

Applicants who are interested in applying for these alternative scholarships can use the provided application form. Please fill in your chosen scholarship provider(s) and submit it to us. SGS will send your application form to your chosen scholarship provider(s). In the meantime, applicants will be waiting to be contacted back by their scholarship provider(s) about the related conditions, criteria, and processes. 

Alternative scholarship application criteria:

  1. Apply for the MAS program at SGS, Thammasat University.
  2. State your intention to apply for an alternative scholarship by sending an intention email to the MAS program.
  3. The program will send the scholarship application and reference letter to the organization.
  4. You will wait to be contacted back by the organization for further steps.

How Will I be evaluated?

Applicants will be evaluated based on the scholarship provider’s discretion of applicant’s overall qualifications and qualities.

Important

Applicants should always check the curriculum’s calendar and be aware of its application dates, as well as your credit registration dates. By doing this, you will be able to apply for the scholarships and receive your financial support at the right time. Scholarship providers will need to know about your costs first before they can support you.
