On 4 June 2025, the School of Global Studies’ Dean, Asst. Prof. Dr. Prapaporn Tivayanond Mongkhonvanit, joined a high-level seminar titled “ASEAN 2045: Vision, Opportunities, and Hope/Expectations” organized by the Department of ASEAN Affairs to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event brought together over 150 participants—onsite and online—including thought leaders from the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ), Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), Chulalongkorn University, and Thammasat University.
In her remarks, Dr. Prapaporn stressed the urgent need for ASEAN to address two interconnected challenges:
- Digital Divide: While youth are adapting quickly to digital technologies, many remain unprotected, especially in rural areas. Bridging this divide is critical to ASEAN’s “leave no one behind” vision.
- Climate Inaction: Despite rising awareness, behavior change lags behind. ASEAN must prepare its people and societies to turn awareness into meaningful action for a sustainable future.
The seminar is part of an ongoing series aimed at shaping a forward-looking ASEAN Community Vision 2045.
