On March 18th, the Thammasat University School of Global Studies International Student Club (ISC) organized a Cultural Trip to Phaya Thai Palace and Suan Pakkad Palace in Bangkok, which offered an opportunity for students to explore the rich culture of Thailand.
Introduction to Thammasat University School of Global Studies International Student Club The Thammasat University School of Global Studies International Student Club (ISC) is a student-run organization that aims to create a sense of community and support international students in the School of Global Studies. Through various events and activities, ISC strives to promote multiculturalism, encourage student interaction, and provide opportunities for personal growth and development.
Cultural Trip: Discovering Different Cultural Places in Bangkok The recent trip organized by ISC was an all-day event involving various modes of public transportation to reach the destinations, including walking, public buses, and the BTS. The first stop was Phaya Thai Palace, known for its Thai-European aesthetic, reflecting the influence of European architecture and design during the reign of King Rama VI. The palace’s Royal Garden was a highlight of the visit, providing a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The group gathered at Cafe de Norasingha to enjoy the ambiance and refreshments.

After a brief lunch break, the group proceeded to Suan Pakkad Palace, named after the cabbage garden that once occupied the site. The palace is renowned for its traditional Thai pavilions, artworks, and impressive collection of antiques and artifacts. The tour guide, who was enthusiastic and charismatic, made the visit to Suan Pakkad more informative and enjoyable, enhancing the students’ learning experience.
