On August 31st , the GSSE program brought 15 students from Cohort 6 and 8 to the Thai Health Center, Bangkok, joining the ‘Health Detective’ activity designed to raise awareness and knowledge among youths about non-communicable diseases prevention. This field visit was curated as a part of their GSSE elective course GS273 ‘Media Advocacy’.
What is GS273 ‘Media Advocacy’ course about?
To better understand globalization and how people drive positive changes in the society, we must pay attention to communications and media—what they are and how we can leverage them for good causes. In this course, students will look at media as an important tool to amplify their voices and constructively participate in social causes and policy changes in order to make a difference.
