GSSE students just won 2nd runner-up in Foodinnopolis Innovation Contest 2021.

Gino (cohort 3) and Ruk (cohort 5), with other four team members and their advisor from the Food Science and Innovation Concentration, Thammasat University, have competed in the food innovation contest under the team name of “3HC”.

They researched, came up with a brilliant idea and developed a prototype for their product—’Hody Cheese’—an alternative choice of cheese for the cheese lovers, made mostly from hemp seeds. This idea and plan had been well presented, leading to them taking home the 2nd runner-up spot for this annual occasion.

3HC gave us an insight that ‘Hody Cheese’ packs a high level of protein. It is also free of lactose and saturated fatty acids (SFAs). This composition helps consumers to control their risks of food-related non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Moreover, they hope that this could become a great alternative of cheese for people who do not consume dairy products to obtain similar nutritions compared with dairy cheese.
