
The School of Global Studies, Thammasat University, is proud to have successfully hosted the first cohort of 2025 from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), National University of Singapore. Held from November 30 to December 4, 2025, this prestigious program brought Master’s in Public Policy (MPP) and Master’s in International Affairs (MIA) students to Thailand to examine the link between national policy and community-driven solutions.
Bridging Policy and Practice in Bangkok. The itinerary began in Bangkok, where participants engaged with key institutions driving Thailand’s development:
- Local Livelihoods: The group explored the Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market to understand local economic dynamics.
- Global Perspectives: A visit to the United Nations ESCAP provided insights into regional cooperation and development goals.
- Social Infrastructure: Students visited the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (THPF) and the Community Organizations Development Institute (CODI) to study Thailand’s health and housing networks.
- Urban Housing: The cohort observed urban living solutions at the Collective Housing Project (Ruam Jai Community).
Field Immersion in Chai Nat Province. The program continued in Chai Nat Province, focusing on practical applications of development theory:
- Collective Housing: A visit to Han Kha District highlighted community-managed housing projects.
- Disaster Management: In Had Asa (Sapphaya District), students observed effective community-based flood management strategies.
- Aging Society: The cohort visited Huai Ngoo (Han Kha District) to learn from a successful “Aging Friendly Community” model.
The School of Global Studies remains committed to fostering transformative learning.
