SGS Recently Hosted a Meeting With the Beijing Municipal Education Commission to Discuss Potential Opportunities for Collaboration.

Thammasat University and Beijing Municipal Education Commission Discuss Collaborative Opportunities

Thammasat University’s School of Global Studies (SGS) held a meeting on December 15, 2023, with representatives from the Beijing Municipal Education Commission. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss potential opportunities for collaboration. It was held at the Pridi Meeting Room 1, which is located on the 3rd floor of the Dome Administrative Building at Thammasat University’s Rangsit Campus.

The Beijing Municipal Education Commission delegation was led by Mr. Yu Hai, the Committee of CPC, the Director of Education Publicity Office, and the Education Committee of Beijing Municipal, and included other officials from the Commission.

Assistant Professor Dr. Prapaporn Tivayanond Mongkhonvanit, Dean, Thammasat University’s School of Global Studies, and Assistant Rector for International Affairs, Lecturer Siripatra Patchanee, D.D.S., represented Thammasat University at the meeting, where they discussed options for collaboration in the following areas:

  1. Facilitating exchange student cooperation between secondary schools and universities.

  2. Recruiting local international students to pursue bachelor’s, master’s, and doctor’s

    degrees in Beijing, with various scholarship opportunities.

  3. Understand the academic majors and scholarship systems of local colleges and

    universities, and recommend Chinese high school and university students to pursue

    studies there.

  4. Implementing mutual teacher training initiatives.

  5. Establishing inter-school cooperation and Cooperative Education.

Both parties agreed to continue the discussions and explore potential future collaboration opportunities.

Thammasat University is committed to fostering international partnerships and collaborations that benefit students and faculty members. The meeting with the Beijing Municipal Education Commission is a step towards achieving this goal.
