The School of Global Studies (Thammasat University) and Marketbuzz collaborated on the survey topic “Are the majority of Thai people concerned about the environment?”. According to this survey which we conducted; it is found out that 38% of all respondents (from 1,000 surveyed population) are Thais that express their most concerned issue to be ‘environmental degradation’—this comes as the number one of all concerns. Other subsequent worries expressed by our Thai respondents are about the economic conditions, rising living costs, unemployment rate, and corruption, respectively.

In essence, Thais view that the environment conditions can greatly affect people’s quality of life; and they believe that the situations could get a lot worse in the next five years.

[Thai] วิทยาลัยโลกคดีศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ และ มาร์เก็ตบัซซ (Marketbuzz) ได้ร่วมกันสำรวจในหัวข้อ “คนไทยส่วนใหญ่สนใจปัญหาด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมหรือไม่?” โดยผลสำรวจนั้นพบว่า ผู้ตอบแบสอบถามซึ่งเป็นคนไทยจำนวนถึง 38% จาก 1,000 คนของผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามทั้งหมดนั้น มีความกังวลเกี่ยวกับปัญหามลพิษและสิ่งแวดล้อมเป็นอันดับ 1 โดยมีปัญหาด้านเศรษฐกิจ ค่าครองชีพที่สูงขึ้น การว่างงาน และการทุจริต เป็นปัญหาที่ผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามกังวลรองลงมาตามลำดับ

ผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามมองว่าปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมนั้นส่งผลต่อคุณภาพชีวิตเป็นอย่างมากและเชื่อว่าปัญหาจะยิ่งเลวร้ายมากไปอีกในระยะเวลา 5 ปีข้างหน้า ซึ่งปัญหาดังกล่าวนี้ ยังต้องอาศัยความร่วมมือของส่วนรวมอีกมากในการแก้ปัญหาดังกล่าวนี้
